ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Codie.
I'm 22 years old, living in the United Kingdom. I love to act, listen to music and photography. I've been living with a disability since the age of 9, and I've been creating content as a disability advocate since 2023, sharing what it's like to live life as a neurodivergent person dealing with chronic illness and the ups and downs faced along the way.

I was diagnosed with Scoliosis in 2013 and had spinal fusion 3 years later, but little did I know that this was only the start of my disability journey. I was a hypermobile kid who experienced 'growing pains' for years which would follow me into my adulthood, eventually being put down to suspected Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

As a result of this, I also developed Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) as well as suspected Gastroparesis in my late teens/early twenties whilst I was studying at University, alongside a late diagnosis of Autism, bringing many more challenges my way. My world felt like it had been turned upside down, and I didn't know how I would bounce back.

My final major project at University was a documentary all about living life with an invisible disability and the stigma that surrounds it, which was a driving force to help me complete my degree during a difficult period with my health. I am so proud of the work that I made and the impact it holds on such an important topic, and the positive reception it received.

I fell in love with the thought of being able to have a positive impact and making a change for the better which drove me to become more invested in disability advocacy. I face more and more challenges in my daily life and I want nothing more than to be able to do something amazing or even something as simple as brightening someone's day.
